I did an assessment today at DBS and managed to pass, however I was told that on the fast reaction test I only got a "borderline pass". I understand that some TOC's will not accept this, and was wondering if anyone knows anything about this topic.I did the assessment at my own expense, and was now going to send my CV around.

Have also applied for FCC, and wondered if they accept borderline passes.

I was fine in my Criteria based interview, dots, TRP and Mechanics, just only scraped through though on the fast reaction test.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Of the 4 of us at my 2nd assessment centre with Northern Rail, 2 got borderline passes, which weren't enough for the TOC according to one of the delegates. Thankfully I got an average pass.

look on the plus side, least you didn't fail it.

I take it a borderline pass is the minimum criteria, however each TOC can have their own percentage of marks? A friend of mine did the listening/communication test and failed that with HEX, but had exactly the same audio tape at SWT and passed with flying colours. He still believes to this day that he did well at the HEX assessment, just reckons there are certain 'points' they are looking for. For example, out of 18 questions 6 of them or so are a MUST and add 2 points and the rest just give 1 point. Hope that makes sense?
Correct me if I am wrong, I've never sat these tests so I wouldn't know. Sound really daunting to me.

It all depends on the quality of the others who take the test, if they are borderline and you are slightly better you will get the offer however when selecting close candidates the test results are used as a comparison

I just about passed this today, I asked if it would effect my selection process and was told that a pass is recorded.
The lady said thats all they pass onto the TOC, not the actual results.

Obviously I do not know if thats really the case

Looks like I may be getting some bad news then as I only 'just' passed it myself

My speed was ok it was just the accuracy

It all depends on how many pass and how many vacancies there are, if 20 pass and there are 2 vacancies then it's not looking good however they may invite all 20 to interview and see what ones from the group are the better candidates for the jobs, the most important part of passing for a driver or any job for that matter is the interview

If you got a borderline pass in one area and did ok on some of the other tests, your overall score might still be ok. Whatever you do dont beat yourself up about it, you passed so that's the main thing.
