Hi All,

Have any drivers had their basic backpay yet? I’m due mine shortly and I was curious to see if Aslefs calculations were correct? Or did it differ?

Why are you asking on here rather than through your ASLEF reps or your employer?

Because reps haven’t been paid yet, like myself. Payroll also won’t take any questions on this as they are “Overwhelmed”

All received in one cheque here. Seemed to be in line with what I expected, albeit I haven’t seen the detailed calculation.

The ASLEf calculation was just a general example one I think?

Got the email but never bothered to look into things. Just waiting for our pay bill next week. Why spoil the fun by checking early?

Exactly. But the surprise of what it is makes the wait good fun for me. Just like I don’t check my monthly premium bond wins (or lack of lol) online. I still wait for the cheque through the post.

Very old school! We have some drivers who still don’t have access to the online pay slips, and wait for theirs to arrive through the post. Personally I don’t really understand that, but each to their own!

The first they would have known of the exact amount of their back pay (assuming they hadn’t done their own calculation, as I know some have) was when it hit their bank account!

Oh I'm not quite that bad. Not had a postal payslip for several years. Then again I don't always look at my online one

Surprisingly at my large depot there are only two drivers with declined leave this Sunday. There is a good chance they’ll get their day off anyway once the duty traincrew managers have a shuffle of the pack. The windfall hasn’t had that much of an effect after all.

Mine was almost exactly as I calculated it. Not had time to double check it yet but not going to quibble over a small amount as it will most likely be my calculation error.

Our back pay didn't include the European Holiday pay for some reason. This will be repaid in February when the 2024 EU payment is due. Everyone seems happy including Aslef to wait for payment.

I guess in all the calculations it's was an easy one to miss.
