Two unusual things happened in the space of half an hour at Ashford International today and both of these were in the form of DRS traction. Firstly saw DRS "Dred" no. 66412 and then 20313 + 20308 Cab to Cab on the 6M95 Dungeness - Willesden Nuclear Flask train. Something you don't see everyday.

Interesting shot of the 20s, you can tell they dont work that way much - look at the state of the yellow bit! Must be a bit of a shock to the system for drivers though!

Brilliant stuff, up here we had the driver of 66412 doing heads out whilst whacking the throttle up to full, then a nice two tone and quality thrash from 20313 8)

Cheers for the comments. Down here we had a couple of toots from the Dred (making me jump) and the driver also whacked the throttle up (so much so I couldn't get a decent rear shot) and from 20313 we had a small two tone but did sound well.

Looks like someone has shot at the nose of 20313. Looks like it has little dents but then it may be muck and dirt.

Most of the drivers I see on 'specials' usually look bored, even if they've a pair of tractors or something - rarely get any toots/horn from the drivers.

Can't really complain though, its the locos thats the main thing. :p

No you can't complain. Only a vid camera can capture the tooting of a horn.

I actually preffered seeing a 66 than the usual 37 because you never see a Dred down at Ashford or any other place on the Southern territory. (Unless one is fired to F.Liner and used to the Isle of Grain).
