I don't know much about it but I'll try. Don't know the shift pattern though
You have both domestic and High Speed desks at Ashford, along with shift managers (I'm not sure if the High Speed and Domestic sides have separate SSMs but they have separate LOMs so I suppose it's logical, also the Train Delay Attributors work there and EMMIS (the Electrical Control room for the High Speed line. The domestic lines' ECR is at Canterbury)
Area of control is (very roughly) Elmstead Woods to Dollands Moor and the Dartford/Gravesend area. High Speed is St Pancras to Cheriton. 5 domestic desks, not sure how many high speed, 2 possibly. The only thing I know about the work is because the high speed line is very new and comparatively lightly used hardly anything goes wrong so it can get a tad boring I gather.

12 hour roster.

1990s-vintage VDU workstations (can't remember if they're MCS or Westcad): six Grade 8 and one Grade 3 (Ashford - Rye).

W/s 1: Elmstead Woods - Hildenborough
2: Hildenborough - Staplehurst (inc Tonbridge - Godstone & Paddock W - Beltring)
3: Ashford - Rye
4: Staplehurst - Westenhanger
5: Westenhanger - Folkestone/Eurotunnel interface
North Kent 1: Woolwich/Falconwood/Mottingham - Dartford
North Kent 2: Dartford - Higham (inc Grain branch)

North Kent link work NK1 and NK2. There is also a 'French link' (requiring some language skills!) which I believe works most/all day turns on No.5, as well as a Grade 3 link which obviously works No. 3. The Marshlink service is hardly intensive, so I understand they have to do some of the paperwork for the busier workstations. AFAIK, the rest rotate around 1, 2 and 4 - and can also cover 3 if required.

High Speed are in the same building - two Grade 8 workstations - but are operated autonomously. Various other staff based there (rosters, delay attribution, technical).

HTH?

Yes, they do. High Speed has its own SSMs, LOM and OM.

The only thing I know about the work is because the high speed line is very new and comparatively lightly used hardly anything goes wrong so it can get a tad boring I gather.

A well-placed source once told me that the workload is more akin to a 'normal' Grade 4.

WS1-5 aren't WestCAD they're original BR IECC (sometimes referred to as IECC Classic) - a lot of Classic installations are being converted over to the much newer "Scalable" product.

All 4 of the main VDU-based signalling control products look very similar, as there are standard symbology and colours they use.

WestCAD screens have multiple rows of orange control buttons at the bottom of the screen, while IECC has a single row. MCS has a very different look, although it won't look overly foreign to someone already used to VDU signalling.
