Off to the Ascot races on Saturday!

Does anyone know whether it is possible to buy a day return ticket between London Waterloo and Ascot that also includes a Z1-6 One Day Travelcard (as we will be travelling around London after the races). Or is the best/only option to buy the travelcard separately and then purchase a Boundary Zone 6 return to Ascot?

I see from the South West Trains website that a combined ticket can be purchased when travelling from Ascot to London, but apparently not in the other direction. Would this ticket still be valid for my journeys?

Not possible I'm afraid, you'll have to buy the Travelcard + BZ6-Ascot tickets as you suggest. Alternatively, if you wanted to book online and collect from the machine, you could buy Feltham-Ascot instead of BZ6-Ascot, it's the same price and all trains call at Feltham AFAIAA.

A boundary zone 6 - Ascot ticket will cost £7.30 off peak (not before 09:30 Mon-Fri) or £7.50 peak without a railcard.
