Arun Valley track throws the train around

Coming north this afternoon on the Arun Valley line between Pulborough and Billingshurst abd Christ's Hospital, the train was thrown about (side to side) in a way that I don't remember from other trips. This was car 4 of an 8-car 377 (Victoria from Bogmor.)

Can any other travellers on this route (or drivers / OBS) confirm if this is a problem with the track? On other fast stretches (Quarry Line) the train behaved itsself.

I Think it just happens sometimes? Maybe suspension was awfully bad at that time if suspension is involved here. But I have always thought that 377s generally don't have a smooth ride compared to 700s or 444s

I live on the Redhill route and I have been on plenty trains that have performed in a similar way that you have described.

Were you at the rear of the train? The back of 377 formations is always much worse for lateral ride than the front.

For sure was always lively had to hang on to me tea i used to get Barnham if i hadn't drunk it by Amberley and i was always in rear coach as in those days trains still ran via Redhill

It looks like a couple of separate track defects have already been reported in the same area during the last day or two.
