What exactly did Mr Bunker have in mind for the mark2s? What services would they have operated had he not been sacked?Alas Mr Bunker perhaps should have thought twice before he bought them for ATW, his vision was good at the time, however HQ Directors were not amused.

Mark2s have until 2020 before they have to be scrapped, that's a little longer than 5 years. Also, six of them wouldn't need a penny spent on them (capital-wise) as they are already operational and going spare in a few months time. Unfortunatly, there's not much that can be done with just those. However, spend a little on some of ATW's other mark2s, and ideally the DBSOs to simplify operation, and you have a fleet of trains that can keep 150s off routes they shouldn't be on until 2015/16 when we'll hopefully get more 158s. After that, a rake or two of mark2s will help avoid leaving passengers behind on platforms during special events until 2017/18 when mark3s from disbanded IC125 sets can replace the mark2s on those duties.
