Arriva Trains Wales Groupsave

I was trying to look at Groupsave prices on Arriva Trains Wales on 18th February 2012 from Shrewsbury to Tywyn, and I found two pages giving contradictory information here and here.

And I tried searching for tickets with either 3 or 4 people and adding GROUPSAVE 3 or GROUPSAVE 4 and it doesn't come up with any discount, just 3 or 4 times the individual ticket price (£15.90 each). Can anybody help?

My understanding is that ATW have abolished GroupSave for flows that they price, and instead do their own Small Group Day tickets. GroupSave is still available for flows priced by FGW that happen to use ATW services for part of the journey (e.g. Bristol to Aberdare).

The information on the GroupSave is technically correct ("GroupSave is available with selected train companies and routes"), they don't actually say that it's available for flows that they price.

The first link I posted above refers to Small Group Day Tickets from 3 to 9 people, giving 25% discount, saying that it is "available on journeys on the Arriva Trains Wales network where the fare is set by Arriva Trains Wales*". "*Further details available from staffed stations or on trains." Shrewsbury to Tywyn is only served by Arriva Trains Wales.

The second link I posted instead refers to GroupSave discounts and talks about GroupSave3 and GroupSave4, allowing 3 or 4 passengers respectively to travel together for the price of 2. (I wouldn't have thought Arriva Trains Wales would include information on their website about something they do not offer!)

Both these are different, yet when I search for tickets I cannot get either of these discounts.

Groupsave was replaced by the Small Group Day fares for groups of between 3 and 9 passengers travelling together. Howeevr, it only works where a day return is offered.

The Group 3 and 4 discount is used on Shrewsbury-Birmingham for example, as LM price those tickets...

They're probably not available online then. That's certainly the case with Groupsave and Southern's website.

Just checked in the manual and the fare for small group day for that journey is £11.95 so any station should be able to issue it for you.
