Hopefully the wag express will be kept operating and a additional working from cardiff to holyhead will be introduced which probably will be well used.

as well as this hopefully the new Ebbw Vale - newport service will start on time although they will have fun trying to find enough dmu's although i have heard that FGW are looking at another loco hauled diagram using their clas 57's or hired in class 47s which will be used on cardiff - taunton/brighton services.

From what I have heard among A.Ms the WAG Express will be kept, the additional working South North will depend on the funding, if the WAG Air is dropped,then the funding is possible.

The Editor in tonights Evening Leader as had a right go at WAGs South Wales
activities with rail, in a Bizare statement Plaid listed A.M.for North Wales
Janet Ryder also in tonights Leader is congratulating the Minister(Ieuan) for

Whilst Id like loco hauled along the sussex coastway again I think its very unlikely to be FGW 57s they cant even keep them going to operate the sleepers services without hiring in from Virgin.

I have just read the transport plan for Wales again, Gerald is to be kept and supported, under the header "We Will" so Gerald is safe for three years,elections then.

With regard to the Ebbw Vale services, the line will probably be very busy this time next year, as the 2010 National Eisteddfod of Wales is to be held on the steelworks site, next to the current Parkway station. Sadly, there aren't any train services to Bala for this year's Eisteddfod.

Yes and i wonder how arriva are going to cope especially with the amount of spare dmus they have being very tight.

Maybe someone should suggest bringing the class 37s back to the ryhmney services and using the displaced dmus to cover the Newport - Ebba Vale services

It'd be Ebbw - Newport - Bristol.

The Ebbw Vale line joins the South Wales Main Line between Cardiff and Newport, near Alexandra Docks. It it connected westbound for Cardiff by Ebbw Junction, and eastbound for Newport by Gaer Junction. Gaer Junction needs to be reinstated for use by passenger trains.
