Arriva MK - are they always this bad?

I moved to Milton Keynes last week, and intend to be cycling soon, but am using the buses for now.
I've caught fourteen buses, and half of them have either been late, more than five minutes early (so I missed them) or just not turned up at all.
Are they always like this, or am I really unlucky?
