4600s reliability was questionable from new, spent more time at the Mercedes Dealership than in service at Derby, I will admit though it looked extremely smart in the original Sapphire livery.
I remember seeing it on the 38 once in a while. I wonder if it was more reliable than the Foden 101?

I drove 101 on one of its first days in service. It made it to London Road and called it a day. When it did work it was a joy to drive but you never felt it would make it to its destination

I even rode on it to Allestree and it even got me home. More than Fleetline KRC 177D ever did. That was a Friday bus.

The MAX Citaros are in a very sorry state. They need to go (but because it’s from Tamworth Garage, these will still run for God knows how long)

56 new electrics for Arriva Leicester confirmed for next year (as well as four more for Centrebus). The article suggests between September 2026 and March 2027, rather than sooner as had been suggested elsewhere.

Some Wright GB Kite Electroliners for Arriva arriving next month so lead to believe.

Tamworth needs to have some cascades from Leicester then, the two 10 plate E200’s arriving shows how desperate they are! If I’m not mistaken, the other 10 plates from Yorkshire have been withdrawn?

Yes, there's 3-4 other 10 plate e200s and a few 09 plate e200s withdrawn

What a demise from 2008 when it was received a full fleet replacement with brand new buses.

If I remember correctly 177D spent a lot of time on school bath services and never strayed far from Ascot Drive. 101 got me to Burton and back on the 46 via Etwall though I did ask if it could be swapped so I had a chance of getting back. What little faith it did a full days service

I once bet my mother on 177 failing on Allestree. I won.

Pulsar 3755 at Tamworth has been withdrawn, recent MOT advisories suggest it was also suffering from chassis corrosion.

There seems to be a pattern happening here with recent Tamworth withdrawals…

Looks quite smart though

Any photos anywhere?

I'm sure they will find some tat from somewhere to back fill in 3755s place, more knackered Solos or E200s maybe!

Hey guys. Bit of a weird and random post.. I’m a bus driver and have been for 3 years now, I’m looking for a new place to work and I’ve thought about giving Arriva a good shot again as it didn’t work out for me last time. I live in Nottingham and I really want somewhere to work where the routes are easy and the passengers are okay ish lol.. I know there’s a Thurmaston depot which is 30-40 minutes away from my house assumingly they do the main routes out of Leicester. However, I’ve heard there’s also a Coalville depot which is only slightly further. What routes run out of both depots please? I’d like to consider whichever one has the least routes to learn but just looking for information from people who know best. Any other information or tips are appreciated, honest comments too.

Thank you

I can't comment on the Leicester garages, but having friends who work at Derby 90% of the time they have no complaints.

The services are pretty easy too, most being local runs but the 2 service is a nice run out through the countryside, Derbys rates are also pretty good, £15.50 standard rate (could be more now) & more for evenings, weekends & bank holidays.

Customers are hit & miss, unfortunately like everywhere there is issues, but with cab screens youll be protected so in that respect your ok.

Wish you the best of luck with your search though.

I’d like to thank you for the very swift replies that I have received so far. I worked at Arriva derby and unfortunately left after 5 days. I think my main issue is anxiety and then also bordem which I’m getting therapy to find a way to cope and hopefully learn to stick in a job. Arriva would be good for me because I’m thinking if I ever move house for personal reasons then atleast I know I should be able to stick with the company but just move to another depot. It’s all a bit messy for me and I know it’s nobody’s issue but I’m quite interested in finding somewhere small and not as far as where I’m working right now to hopefully manage a little better. Thank you for the information anyway

8 is not Hinckley to Nuneaton. Perhaps you are getting confused with the 8 (Hinckley to Lutterworth) or the 6A (Nuneaton - Callander Farm)?
