Sounds like the 1B and 2A will join to create a big circular route and allow some decker workings on the busy 2's.
I am told they will terminate at the same point, although no idea where that is.. It might explain why the 2s are changing times at the same date.

Once again, a repeat of sweeping criticism about individuals, rather than the service changes, without providing any specifics.

Would you care to detail your thoughts on Milton Keynes' upcoming service changes? Of course Arriva uses mapping software - as does the rest of the bus industry - we do not use paper and pen and ley lines...

Do Arriva use AI software, like First do ?

My first question would be given the X1 is going to serve Bletchley Bus Station, how do you expect to safely load wheelchairs onto coaches here?

As for the service changes, I have to question why does the 3 keep being picked on for longer and longer journey times? Surely there are better ways of serving the housing developments and industrial units without having the 3 take forever? There has got to be a cut off point here where you go, actually people at Amazon or Eagle Farm for example, won't travel on the bus when the journey times are so long.

Why is there excessive amounts of dead mileage? What a colossal waste when this can be used to cheaply improve services (such as 3 buses currently run dead to Aylesbury. Multiple buses dead from Wolverton to CMK which could be instead put on an additional 5s very cheaply. Given MK is a London Commutery area, you need to be providing the earlier buses to the train stations and later buses back. Replacing dead mileage with some service runs could significantly help boost early morning/late evening provision between MK and Wolverton.

With Bletchley about to become a much busier train station with East West Rail, the lack of bus link from Tettenhoe and Westcroft I think is a mistake. People are forced to drive to the train instead as multi modal just wouldn't work. CMK is treated too much as the centre of the world and if you want to get a bus to anywhere else such as Bletchley to then catch the new trains, you're a bit stuffed.

Service changes have been announced effective the 6th of January next year, including a new bus service in the Coalville area.
We’ll be making changes to some of our services across Leicestershire to introduce a new service, extend some journeys and provide timetables better suited to customer’s needs.
  • 5/5A/X5 Leicester to East Goscote and Melton Mowbray
The 0736 X5 from Melton Mowbray Valley Road will now start at 0725 from Windsor Street, allowing customers travelling into Melton on the 5A arriving 0720 to stay onboard the bus and travel around the 'Valley Road loop' to reach Melton Vale Sixth Form.

In Queniborough both 5 and 5A will now call through the centre of this growing village, running along Syston Road and Rearsby Road. X5 journeys will continue to run directly along Melton Road.
  • 11/11A/12 Coalville to Agar Nook
There'll be changes to the timetable of service 11/11A, with buses now running every hour Monday to Friday as well as on Saturday.

We're also introducing new route 12 following local feedback, which will run hourly Monday to Friday between Whitwick and Memorial Square calling at City of Three Waters, King Richard's Hill and Whitwick Market Place.
  • 27 Leicester to Ratby and Coalville
There'll be changes to the afternoon timetable of this service, to better reflect current traffic levels and journey times. We'd like to thank customers from Ratby and Groby for their patience while we've worked with local stakeholders to make these changes.
  • 50 Leicester to Fosse Park and Narborough
The 0548 from Narborough into Leicester will run 5 minutes later throughout, to pass through St John's at the right time for night shift workers at Topps Tiles and ESPO.
  • X3 Leicester to Market Harborough
Buses will now call at the new Airfield Farm development between Kibworth and Market Harborough, coming in and out via the new bridge at Peter Callis Way.

As a result of our partnership with the housing developers we will also be introducing a Sunday service on this route.

The timetable will continue to coordinate with Stagecoach X7 and tickets will continue to be accepted across both operators as current.
  • X6 Leicester to Coventry FAST
Buses will now depart from Stand A at Coventry's Pool Meadow Bus Station. There is no change to the timetable.

Hate to say this, given I remember the early (read dark) days of Diamond in Birmingham well, but Diamond are currently putting Arriva to shame in Tamworth...

Yes, it's a much smaller operation, but they are running, newer, well presented buses and actually seem to care about punctuality.

Turning out a fleet of spotless buses at this time of year, every day, is impressive on it's own!

Details of the changes to the 1's and 2's in Derby.

We’ll be making some changes to a couple of our services to provide customers with extended routes and to help keep buses running on time.

1A/1B/1C Derby to Alvaston and Boulton Moor
Route 1B is extended along Snelsmoor Lane to Fellow Lands Way following feedback from our customers.

There'll also be some minor changes to the 1A/1C timetable during the morning and evening peak hours, to help keep your bus on time.

2/2A Derby to Melbourne and Swadlincote or Chellaston
We're working in partnership with Derbyshire County Council to introduce a bus service to the Chellaston Fields development.

Some journeys that currently start/finish at Chellaston School will now extend to Riber Drive, next to Aldi.

@arrivamatt Would a extention of the Xt X1 Milton Keynes to Luton/Airport , to Stansted be viable?
I know there are only a few National Express services?

It looks like the expected move of up to 20 VDL /Wright Pulsars are on the move from Merseyside to DERBY . 18 identified so far, released by new Enviro 200MMCs on Merseyside.

Oh wonderful! Older VDLs which will be shagged when they arrive…

Seriously how many more of these internal moves will Arriva be able to pull off until the penny finally drops that they need to start placing some big orders...

The longer they leave it, the bigger the order will have to be.

Derby’s last big order was 2008, only due to the DDA rules that arrived that year.

would rather keep the OmniCitys & B9s over anything else that’ll be internally transferred.

Of course they had all those 68 plated (2018) Streetlites. Still not ridden on one.

Tamworth had some B9's as part of the same batch for the 110, Derby's B9's look to be in a better shape than the E400's that replaced Tamworth's B9's 10 years ago!

That’ll keep MRC busy for a few months then.

Derbys E400s aren’t the worst to be honest, the lack of heating is very noticeable at the moment though.

There's unlikely to be much demand for travel between Luton Airport and Stansted Airport - neither are 'connecting' hubs in the way Heathrow or Gatwick are.

It will also be a slow journey - Google Maps reckons about 1h 20m - probably more for a coach, and neither would be serving anywhere of signifcance en-route. IIRC a Stevenage - Stansted route was tried for a while but didn't last. And if you go back a long time, the Green Line 724 was extended from Harlow (having come through mid-Herts) to Stansted but again, ended up being truncated back to Harlow.

Tamworths still look smart, but they have been hammered on the 110.

I've too noticed how cold they are, it's like there don't actually have heating fitted!

Ah yes the "newer" buses. I wouldn't be surprised if these were higher mileage than the current omnicities.
Nice to see them taking the time to paint them before releasingt hem.

Seems some 3000 up may still be tracking on Merseyside..Okay, it could just be the ticket machines.

Heating? Tell me about it, we have lovely new Arriva Electric buses in Leicester yet every morning at 06:30 we sit at Fosse Park with the doors open for five minutes because of arriving early and complaining to the drivers does nothing!

Reminds of local trains in the winter months when all the doors opened whether anyone wanted to get off or not.

3006 onwards are still in use and expected to move to Arriva North East, this in turn is said to see some Stockton Streetlites move to Laird Street. Wythenshawe final month is now, the probable thing to leave play out before anything else changes.

That got renumbered quickly
Yeah, looks like they might be going into consecutive fleet numbers since there's quite a big gap between that and the current numbers

I wonder if they will track correctly as quickly as they got renumbered too ;)
