Arriva Holland

Can anyone point me to the right areas to photo Arriva Buses in Holland. I am staying in Amsterdam and will travel to various places to photograph them, Thanks

There are no longer any Arriva buses in Amsterdam since they lost the Waterland franchise to Israeli firm EBS. There are a few Qliners at Schiphol including a 24 hour service to Alphen. Lelystad's town network is run by Arriva, but they have recently renewed the fleet and the new buses are not in standard Arriva livery. Leiden and Zoetermeer are also served by Arriva.

I haven't been on that route, thanks for the tip.

However, that route is no longer run by Arriva, as it is part of the Waterland franchise now run by EBS.

I think Arriva do the Emmen to Groningen route, the number escapes my memory now, think it was an X route though. Don't hold me to that though, that was in March and things change quickly with buses and my mind was not on buses at the time!

Qbuzz took over almost all buses in Groningen and Drenthe provinces from Arriva in December 2009, including 300 Groningen to Emmen Qliner (express). However, Arriva still run the 305 Qliner Groningen to Emmen.

It is simple to use 9292.nl. Just remove train from the list of modes.

For example tomorrow morning:

0715 Vlissingen - 0737 Middelburg bus 57
0741 Middelburg - 0855 Zierikzee bus 133
0856 Zierikzee - 0951 Rotterdam Zuidplein Metro Interliner bus 395
Metro to the city centre.

all buses run by Connexxion, fare €17.10 with OV-Chipkaart.

Note, the connections are tight, but are probably planned connections so you shouldn't have to worry about missing the connections.

Very helpful - thanks - (doing some family history research - and I fancy doing the bus cross country / region - to get a feel for the area) - ....returning via the Hook sailing. Presume you can pay cash on the bus. ? Think someone else mentioned this - as not having a Dutch credit card living in Londonia ...!

If you are paying in cash then you will almost certainly be better off getting a day ticket for the Zeeland province, which can only be bought in cash from the driver.

€13, valid after 0900 but not valid on the 395. You might be better off using a different route to avoid the 395 to save money. You can always pay for individual bus rides in cash on Dutch buses, but it could be pricey. You would still have to pay to get from the Zeeland boundary to Rotterdam.

You don't need a Dutch credit card to use an OV-Chipkaart. You can buy them and top them up in cash from ticket offices.
