Hello all

I've suddenly decided to take a trip to London. I haven't been for about 9 years and for reasons I'm having a bit break

My plan is to travel the tube heading outwards, End Of The Line type of thing during the daytime. Maybe a bit Overground too. See how it goes. The only places I definitely have to be is Golders Green at 7am, then Kings Cross, then Camden. No rush for the last two

I have an Oyster card that is registered to an old email. I rang TfL earlier and was told to put in a machine at Golders Green and I could add credit onto it. Just hoping it still works!

So I'm just asking for a bit of advice of the zone thing. The best ways to avoid the expensive bits! Apart from having to travel into Kings Cross and maybe Brixton, the rest of the time I will be mucking about!

Thanks in advance

Thanks! That could come in really handy. I totally did not think this through haha even though I've been wanting to return to London for a heck of a long time

If you want to avoid the "expensive" bits, then the Overground will be good for you as it has a few orbital routes that don't go through Zone 1.

But otherwise getting a paper Travelcard will be best.

Thanks very much for replies! Much appreciated. I had a few tube and overground rides. Most were just seeing where I ended up which was great!I also did a couple of random buses just as a comparison to where I live.
I would have posted a trip report. Not quite sure what order everything happened though haha!
Thanks again! Next time I'll have a proper plan

Another thanks to you all. I'm pleased I did just my random tube/overground rides just on the oyster. All paper ticket talk is a bit complicated.
I'll be heading back down to the smoke(!) again soon then I'll be asking you lot for Lumo advice!
Thanks again. Close thread
