5M08 (?) Tonbridge-Donnington RMT, for tomorrows 5O08 10:00 Donnington RMT-Eastleigh. :)

Movement of 508s to Eastleigh for Storage.

As for the Arlington Fleet Services Barrier Vans, they are not owned by Arlington but Angel Trains - They are on the other hand, painted in Arlington Fleet Services livery for extra advertising, as they carried out the overhaul and upgrading of the vans in Eastleigh Works - Hence the vans naming of:

Pashcar
Perpetiel

Both Angles...

So theres tonights bit of usefull information for you!

I thought the 508s were already in store at Donington.

Does seem odd to move them again unless there are any plans to repair / refurbish them.

As far as im aware, there are no plans to do anything to them, just storage...

Donnington was meant to be a Rail Freight terminal which so far, only seems to have been used for the storage of the 508s - So it wouldnt supprise me, if the owners wanted the fleet to be moved on, to potentially give some space back for Rail Freight...

However they can be taken out for a run on the juice from Eastleigh, and powered up on the third rail within the works.

Maybe there is hope for them yet...

It is the intention that 6 of the 12 former SET units will be warm stored at Eastleigh. This cannot be done at TIRP as it is nothing more than a collection of open sidings which are ideal for storage but nothing else. Currently the next movement is planned for Friday 5th August. There will then be a long gap before any further rail movements as some units will be conveyed by road. All 12 units will eventually be at Eastleigh, all with varied futures.

With regards to T5, they are indeed both named after Angels as they are leased by ATL to GBRf. They will eventually be utilised on the 465/466 flow between Doncaster and Slade Green. Arlington carried out the overhaul and it was agreed that the vehicles would carry their colours as any change of lease could render an operators livery obsolete.

A GBRf 66 (723 I think) will depart Telford at 10.00 as 5O08 to Eastleigh with 508210 + 508201. Set T5 will be the translators
