Hi all,

So after selling my previous layout. I've spent the last couple of months making a start on a new one. Which I'd like to share with you.

The concept is simple, yet interesting and something completley differant. The main feature of the layout is the small station, which is actualy serving an arena type building above. What the audience see is only a small portion of the arena building, which is actualy the back end. So there will be a loading bay and a couple of trucks delivering show equipment.

Other features include a small stabling point and then a headshunt which not only is for accessing the stabling point, but is an access line to a Royal Mail depot above.

Along the raised section we have the arena, the back end of a retail park (again loading bays and trucks), a bus depot, a warehouse (again loading bays and trucks), and we can also see a corner of a large Royal Mail depot.
As you can see then industry is a big feature of the layout.

Operations wise there's plenty of interest - the station which will have DMUS and if I want to I can run a loco hauled train in, light locos for the stabling point, tankers delivering fuel to said stabling point and mail vans being shunted into the mail depot. It will be DCC controled (I've taken the plunge and decided to convert) but with DC controled points.

It is 9x2ft in size, and is on a base of 6mm MDF and a timber framework.

I've been keeping a construction diary on RMWeb which you can view here: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/65723-arena-parkway-latest-update-1522013/ (Permision was obtained before posting the link)

I will post some updates on here, but the bulk of the fully detailed ones will be on the RMWeb diary.

Cheers,

Heinz
