Are there any stations left with human ticket lines?

Question as per title, while reminiscing about New Street, came to mind. Can't think of anywhere which still does it - but surely there must be somewhere... Only place I can think of is VT platform entrances at Euston (assuming they still do that), but then again that isn't really a "line". Anyone know of any?

At Skegness one must queue behind fences and gates and wait for the train to arrive. Then your ticket is manually checked by staff.

I've seen XC do this with the last train of the night.
TM stands by the door and sells tickets.
Only that door is open and available for use.
Seems sensible if it doesn't delay the train.

Under GNER, Peterborough used to have a revenue team based there checking tickets however under National Express/East Coast when they put the ticket gateline in, the staff were displaced indeed I can only think of one person from the original team who still works there on the ticket gateline, the rest have either moved onto other station roles, train crew roles or simply left.

Note that under BR there used to be a single guy in a red booth checking tickets before you got to what was then Platform 2, then it was a free for all before they had the team in manually checking tickets then they brought the ticket gateline in so now it's pot luck if there is a ticket check there or not.

So quite a lot of change over the years from BR to LNER.

Haven't gone there for ages - but isn't Blackpool North? Considering they don't like passengers on the platforms - surely only a human can be that arkward?

Looking on NRE SME (National Rail Enquires, Stations Made Easy) it looks to be platform entrance gates, similar to Euston? Really I am asking about permanent lines rather than single points which vary.

Interesting about Blackpool North, considering that the negative press it gets, are people actaully allowed on the platforms more than 5 minutes before deptarture now?

10,11, (which also lead to 13 & 14) at Piccadilly are manual checks most of the time even until late in the evening when other barriers are left open. 12 is not barriered and often has no manual check either, but there again it is not often used.

Filton Abbey Wood has multiple revenue staff in attendance checking tickets on weekdays for several hours during the morning and evening peaks.

Of course if the staff are as useful as many of those who manned the New Street barriers their presence next to pointless as it wasn't exactly difficult to get through without a valid ticket.

If you class someone at, or beside, a desk as a "line" then Portadown & Lurgan. At the former for they will not normally let people through until the train is actually in the platform for the internal services.

Not the last time I was there. You can get through the barriers at any time, but you still have to wait until they open the doors to your departure platform.
