Are there any Eurotunnel trainee train drivers out there?

I should imagine most people would print it off by hand, then put pen to paper and send it off in the post, may pay to get a receipt from the post office as proof of sending it, I sent an application off a few months ago, but the Royal Mail lost it somehow!

I e-mailed them today and got an e-mailing saying that there is no preference. I think i'll complete it online as some say my handwriting is sometimes comparable to that of a Dr / drunk person.

I have mine on Wednesday 27th.

From the practice material they've sent me it doesn't seem to bad for the first assessment. Is it really like the practice stuff or is that just to lure you into a false sense of security?

The bit I'm struggling with is the Group Bourdon test. I can be accurate, but I struggle with the speed. Does it get easier with practice?

Well done, I done the assessments may/june and passed but failed the Eurotunnel interview. The group bourdmon test was on paper and only crossing one group of dots same for each section you switched to. You need to be accurate and consistent, you will get no where near end of section.

I'm currently waiting fir reply as applied again but no answer yet.

How do they let you no email post or phone? Hey guys or girls whom have been invited back when did you send your packs back to them by? I tried getting mine in last post on the 11th but post box sounded empty so i think mine went first thing on the 12th so hoping it got there on time.

I got an email inviting me to go along on the 26th (next tuesday) been practicing for these tests etc for around 11 months now but I'm still nervous as anything!

To be honest i didn't think i was going to get a response to my application form as I've never applied for a job before and didn't think an application of mine would even get read haha

Invited by email.

I sent mine off on the 12th, but sent it special delivery so I knew it got there on the 13th.

Did they give you any feedback from the interview? Good luck with your new application.

shame you got past all the assessments and then fail the interview, how many days did you have doing the assessments?

Congrats everyone who's been successful and sorry to those who haven't! I wasn't expecting a positive response as I live about 260+ miles away at the moment! Still, was good practice for my first application to become a trainee driver.

There must have been a large volume of applications, does anyone know how many positions they are looking to fill?

2 seperate assessment days, stage 1 and stage 2. You have to pass stage 1 to get to stage 2 and as day goes people fail and go. They had about 1500 returned applications, stage 1 was 300-400 , stage 2 60, and was only 12 jobs. Were full days, stage 2 was a lot of waiting as crb interveiw takes an hour.

Is there anyone who has started from the recruitment drive in May that can give an indication of what the job is like?

Shift patterns? Pay whilst training? What training involves? Do they teach you French? What uniform are you expected to wear?

It seems I spoke too soon! Just had an email inviting me to come down on 2nd December. Now just got to work out how I'm going to get from Leeds to Folkestone!

So I am considering my options to get down to the assessment centre at the beginning of next month. My mother is under the impression that perhaps Eurotunnel might pay for my travel (and perhaps accommodation) for the interview...I think she is wrong, but said I would ask nonetheless! Is this something that might happen? I would have to travel about 260+ miles to get to the assessment centre and I would definitely have to stay overnight the day before to get to the centre for 8:15. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I'm stopping at the Grand Burstin. Looks a bit of a dive, but its only one night.

Breakfast and dinner included £26 for the night.

I cant imagine Eurotunnel will contribute anything to your travelling/accommodation to come for an Assessment/Interview.. Specially due to the amount of people that applied, I guess they'd look at it as if you wanted the job you'd make the effort and cost of travel wouldn't matter?

But i obviously wouldn't be able to say for sure.

Im quite lucky that i literally live a 10minute walk from the Terminal.

No they don't learn French

I know they work weekends, but do they get their two days off together or is it a case of you could have a Monday off and then a Thursday?

I only ask because I live quite far away from Folkestone, and if I got through I would happily move down there but I would still like to be able to come back up and see my family regularly.
