Are the Lackenby sidings still open ?
And if so what are they used for if the steel works shut down in 2015 ?

Lackenby Sidings are still in regular use, receiving steel slabs from Scunthorpe which are rolled into structural steel (beams, columns) for use in construction.

Although the Redcar Blast Furnaces shut down, along with the Basic Oxygen Steelmaking (BOS) plant at Lackenby, the nearby Teesside Beam Mill remained open.
