Are the 380's starting tomorrow- Scotrail

Supposed to be starting in December, but I did board a 334 today which had the 380 style paintwork......you aint kidding me ! :lol:

Don't know when they're starting as of yet. The most recent estimate was last weekend; that obviously hasn't happened. As we've been discussing elsewhere, the delay has serious implications for electric services in the Strathclyde area when the new timetable comes into force. Airdrie-Bathgate will open on time with a reduced timetable, so there's likely to be short forming elsewhere.

As for the 334; you would have been on 334006. You may also have seen 334012 going around half way between the two liveries. That's just been revinyled into Scotrail colours (as will all the others in the not-too-distant future) so that the new Scotrail colours will be there for the grand opening of the new line a week on Sunday(!). Stewart Stevenson MSP isn't too keen to be photographed in front of an SPT liveried train as you can probably imagine! But they are due a repaint.refurb anyway, so the change in livery is going to be done as part of that.
