Welcome to the forum, and with my sympathy that you are here following the loss of your father.

That depends on whether you want to do something yourself or whether you want to pass them on to someone else. Each has various options.

The important thing is that the photographs and notebooks don't end up in a skip, but survive to illuminate railway history and nostalgia.

You say 50+ years, and you have shared 2 pictures from the steam era, when do the notebooks start please?

A few pictures of some representative pages from the notebooks would help to show what information they contain.

I always enjoy seeing seminar shots from back in the day. Not just because of the locos or fashions but also the chance of seeing people you know. I stood in many seminar shots with various locos and enthusiasts back in the 80s but never see any of them published, shame really. No doubt there are 100s on social media.
Splendid photos, perhaps some more coming soon?

Does it cover any particular area, theme, or preference? For example, if there were a lot of photos taken in Cumbria, then the Cumbrian Railways Association would make good use of them: their collection includes a number of out of area ones as well. If it was Scotland, then the Scottish Railway Presevation Society.

If there are lots of good quality colour photos, the Colourail might be interested in buying some of them, otherwise possibly a publisher of railway books. Or maybe offer to a railway society such as RCTS.

Notebooks - depends on contents. If the identify photo locations, they should accompany the photos.
If he ever did train timing, the Railway Performance Society would probably be interested.
If they were just spotting notes, they are probably of rather limited interest.

Even these may have some interest in proving what was where and when, particularly in the pre-internet era...
Agree. Provided train (time) detail is included as evidence. NapierChronicles for Deltic movements and Railgenarchive for all traction types being two that spring to mind. But both sites will be a mountain of work for their owners as it is, so the enthesis will be on the OP/owner of books to extract the info and submit accordingly via online, which can be extremely time consuming.

Yes, and I always think there will be people in the pics who don't have a copy of the picture but would like to have one due to their own memories of the time / event etc if only they knew the picture was out there.

Many thanks to the OP for sharing these images.

Big Bertha appears to be at Blackwell (in a cutting along with iron fence in front of the up side footpath), awaiting clearance for the descent back to Bromsgrove. And the photo predates the September 1947 renumbering to 22290.
