Appledore to Dungeness line

Is this line still open? Is it purely to serve the power station?

If it is open how many trains use it as nearly all the level crossings, and there are many, are un-manned and un-gated. Most have just a sign.

On average I think its about 1, possibly 2 train per day which run as required.

I've a feeling it's quite a few less than that. 1 or 2 per month, if anything (plus railtours - including the Thumper on the 24th Nov).

Went over the line at Lydd this morning I'd guess its not seen any traffic for some weeks

Dungeness A is fully defueled and all of the fuel was shipped to Sellafield, so I would imagine there will be less flask traffic. There were also some defects with some of the flasks that resulted in fewer shipments until the issues were resolved, I don't know if that impacted Dungeness though.
