I remembered taking the gondola lift to Aonach Mòr some time ago. Judging by the noise it made, I suspected it was a classic Doppelmayr construction with CWA cabins, a theory that was quickly confirmed by an internet search. The only deviations from the standard were the drive in the valley station and the hydraulic tensioning in the mountain station.

However, looking at pictures, I could not tell if Doppelmayr had used the standard DS clamps, the newer DT clamps, or a different product. Does anyone have any information on this?

I believe DT grips were introduced mid 1990s so the Nevis Range gondola predates that having opened in December 1989.
