let me do an example :

''Hello class , my favourite job now , DETENTIONS MUAHAHAHA''

''ohhh wait , you've all done your homework ''DAM'' ''

Boid Comment:
''MAn your all a class of boffins''

Well?? Your thoughts.

My thoughts on this are simple. If a teacher calls you 'boffins' for doing your class and homework, he's in the wrong job! He should be praising you, not deprecating your efforts.

And either he (or you) cannot spell DAMN!

Sorry, but I think YOU have misinterpreted the post by David. It mentions a 'conversation', which the comment by VXC Fan was not. He merely posted a personal opinion about my post, and then went on to make a totally separate comment of his own. His post does not require, not will receive, any further comment from me. THAT might then be construed as the beginning of a conversation IMHO.

In any case, 90% of the posts on this forum are responses to previous posts. The 'conversation' only takes on a life of its own in the exchange goes on beyond that. Even then, where a response is called for, sometimes for clarity a reply to the response IS required.

The word 'obtuse' comes to mind here.
