Anyone have a drone, or a DJI mini drone?

Hello all,

Anyone fly a drone? Looking at getting the DJI Mini 3 Pro, done all sorts of reading and from what I make out if I got one all I need to do is register it for £9 a year, no training courses required? (Using it for personal enjoyment only)

Is it worth it though? Looking at the guides it suggests that unless you are in a field there's no point taking it anywhere! Though the official rules state that for personal use you can fly over commercial and residential land. I'd quite like to take it over Westbury yard for example, even Somerset quarries would be nice that might be an issue maybe, which comes to the question does it cause issues? I notice some of these YouTube Auditors using them and getting into arguments with site security staff.

Otherwise would be nice off of Westbury White Horse as well

Yes, a lot of civilians don't seem to know or care to learn the law about what can and what cannot be filmed. I quite enjoy those auditors for the way that they stay calm while site security lose their minds!

This explains the rules: https://register-drones.caa.co.uk/drone-code/where-you-can-fly - so the DJI mini drone can be flown anywhere. Flying over private land can be trespass, but it's a civil matter and therefore nothing to worry about.
