I'm from Birmingham so not that far away and yeah i do like walks, however i usually walk up Wales or somewhere not far from a mates house if you catch my drift. Looking on your sight you haven't got the National Trails on what some do run along railway lines.

I'm from Alfreton, a 15 minute train ride from Nottingham, so fortunately in Derbyshire and not the Shotgun County.

I am very interested in exploring old railway lines, but walking is just a bit too slow for me! A group of us (Me, metrocammel , NickW, TomNick, Morgantyreman), cycled the former 'Woodhead' line from Hadfield to Penistone a few months ago, which was a really enjoyable day out, and I'd be up for more trips like that.

Hi,
I have done many old railway walks over the years but not always having a camera with me and don't have too much by way of showing anything but the odd station or two over any particular line.

Recently I made a small web site after a walk between Hatton and Boddom on the Ex GNSR branch from Ellon to Boddam, to the north of Aberdeen. You will find this at:

http://theatreorgans.com/hammond/keng/kenhtml/Hatton To Boddam/hattontoboddam (pics One).htm

If you are interested.

I have some pictures of the Ex GCR between Brackley and Leicester, taken on the 30th anniverary of it's closure but haven't worked them into anything as yet.

Have to admit, that it's not a great idea having your Forum ID as a web address as it tends to show up too often, and as comments prove, tends to irritate a little!

Cheers.

BillEWS.
