Any news on them? I know that the DVT is with WSMR sometimes, but is it confirmed that they have powered doors/are ex Irish mark 3s?

Last i news i heard of about the Chiltern Mk3s was they they were mooved from Eastleigh to Bombardier Crewe for refurbishment...so i have a feeling they are currently sitting somewhere deep inside bombarider crewe undergowing refurb...

perhaps they will be refurbished with some of the scrapped irish Mk3 plug doors...

I'd love to see this set on an evening Birmingham - London service for selfish reasons (although it's likely to be the opposite direction), the thought of getting a Mk3 between Birmingham - London bar Virgin's relief again is very appealing. It could free up a 168 for the Stratford service which shouldn't be a 165 in the first place due to the journey time exceeding two hours. Hopefully the Mk3s get comfy FGW-style standard class seats as well.
