Any black Friday sales on tickets this year?

[31160]

Does anyone know about any special sales on

[Watershed]

RENFE have a Black Friday sale

[NER1621]

Very much doubt there will be any ticket sales for a Friday at the start of the Christmas travel peak, and when people may be travelling early to avoid weekend engineering works. That really isn’t to time you need to stimulate demand any further. Look to January or February for ticket sales promotions.

And if anyone wants to join a campaign to eliminate the irritating and utterly meaningless phrase “Black Friday” from UK commerce, let me know!

In the context of the National Rail Network, a Black Friday sale would be more like selling Advance tickets for travel in the last week of February on the last Friday in November for some ridiculously cheap price. London to any station in Scotland for a tenner, anyone? (Well, almost any station. Perhaps not Altnabreac or IBM Halt)

It was reported last month that there'll be a sale in the new year.

It was reported last month that there'll be a sale in the new year.

i.e. the Great British Rail Sale Mk3.

(...or maybe Mk4, as the first one happened in the mid 90's...)
