Seeing as RUK members are a helpful and knowledgeable bunch, I guess this is a good a place to ask as any. On a saver or an open return where the return portion is valid within 30 days of the outbound ticket, is the return ticket valid once or could you use it as many times as you wanted?

No you can only return once WITHIN the 30 days. so say it said 28 FBY 07 and you purchased it on 30th january (if thats 30 days but for argument sake) you could return on the 20th february but not use it again (unless it hasnt been clipped or invalidated through a ticket machine then you could)

Note: beat me to it! :P

You can break your journey overnight. Say you left Paddington on a return journey to Penzance, you could get off and spend the night at Reading and travel the following day, even if it was stamped, punched etc. In theory you could spend a night at every stop along the way as long as you were in Penzance within a calendar month of the outward date. Therefore you could have loads of stamps on your ticket!! This is obviously open to abuse!
