Another question from downunder London - Cambridge

Hi there
I often arrive in London from Melbourne and head to my cousins place in Elsenham. (UKL13.30 + Tube) say hello, dump my bags and then head to Cambridge (UKL9.00 return) to see a friend and generally get drunk.

However I have done a bit of reseach and have found this fare :

Single Zone U1* London - Elsenham UKL13.60 route Hitchin (ie : Change at Cambridge)

Can I break my journey in Cambridge, say from 11:00-17:00 (that should be plenty after a 26hr flight) and then continue my journey down to Elsenham? Also can i leave my bags at Cambridge Station?

I'm not sure about the bags, but ticket wise that should be fine

www.nationalrail.co.uk says there are left luggage facilities at Cambridge

According to the NXEA website, there is a left luggage facility available at Cambridge station - it is operated in the cycle hire shop in the station car park (but no opening times shown). If I remember correctly, the cycle hire place is on your right as you come out of the main station Doors, past Marks & Spencer.
