Another new Google service...And a cool one at that!

Just thought I'd share this new service from Google, which I found when I fired up my web browser just now...

In short, it's a new Android application that can interperet animal sounds and translate them into English, with other languages coming soon. Not having an Android phone, I havn't been able to try it out for myself yet...But from reading the Google Translate for Animals (beta) page, it looks pretty cool!

I notice one of the options is "Guinea Pig". That would be quite simple, everything would translate to "I'm hungry", "Please feed me", "Hello, how about some food" and "I'm starving", other than a deep rumbling which translates to "since there isn't any food, fancy a quick shag?". Thankfully the latter is normally directed at other guinea pigs, not humans.

Hmmm...Has no-one noticed the hidden text in my OP yet? Id've thought people would've seen and read it as soon as they'd quoted my post!

Any idea if the the text actually matched the features of the video or was it just random but the correct colour? If the former, that wouldn't actually be a bad idea!

Google streetview does have 3d views now though. Click on the 3d icon when in street view mode (looks like a person with glasses on).

Just to let you know, that app (Translate for Animals) is actually downloadable and it's really funny! They've got some amazing 'translations' for different animals and it reads them out. If you have a cat or dog, you're going to be able to 'wow' your friends and family!!

If you have an Android phone, download this app! It goes way beyond your normal April Fool's joke!

The streetview 3D was meant to be the gag, but the odd thing is, Google and other online companies find it a great way to new features. I've had someone test the streetview 3d and she confirmed my suspicions that it doesn't work.
