Noticed this morning (and it's not all that obvious) that another 319 has been reliveried to LM colours, but with a white background instead of a grey one, and a white cab end (other than the usual yellow panel).

Livery is not finished yet. The white background was the case with the other units for a while and then they were finished off.

it would be so so much easier for govia to shove through wolverton on the transfer from bedford to Northampton depot Give em a C6 and retrim and get the work done in one hit.

lets face it they are a small sub class allocated to northampton

I am surprised the ROSCO is allowing this sort of half baked treatment of their assets, but then im also not surprised and this is the sad part

Yes neil I know this is the sensible option, All this messing around with half completed paintjobs & refitted interiors looks so so amateur

No wonder the punters are losing faith in Govia

My view is this: does having a 97% complete plaint job stop 2 x 319 units turning up on the 0713 Bletchley - Euston service? If not crack on and sort the pain later ( if at all) - i would rather LM spent time getting them reliably into service than bothering with fripperies.

The finished product is good though, especially 1st. And don't they live at Bletchley (if technically at Northampton)?

they are allocated to Northampton and you often see a couple of units on the depot at the weekend. However they stay overnight at Bletcho during the week.

Doing maintenance (rather than just cleaning) on weekends is a sensible plan on a commuter railway that requires less than half its rolling stock on a weekend. The 319s are only used Monday-Friday. (Edit: other than one on the Abbey line)
