That would be one heck of a dredge. Have a look at this, see what was already done for the ferry port at Fishbourne, and note how much wider the sands are at the pier...From someone with absolutely zero engineering knowledge on the matter, why haven't they dredged (is that the word?) the seabed thereby allowing FastCats to pull up alongside the bus station and turn Ryde into a port properly? I take it the beach next door gets in the way?
