class 77xxx ( I think the last one survived on the southern region until 1967 )
class 210 demu - apparently much more comfortable to travel in than the sprinters that were subsequently produced !

With regards to the austerity, although there were none of the BR ones preserved, Kwvr have converted the one brought back from Sweden to original WD spec. Also, two of the double decker coaches still exist.
