Another delay repay question

My parents travelled from Manchester to Coventry this afternoon, with the return half of an any permitted return from Wolverhampton to Manchester and their local authority free OAP passes between Wolverhampton and Coventry.

They were on the 1427, which was delayed at Stafford and then diverted via Nuneaton (reverse) and then back to Birmingham (reverse again), finally arriving in Coventry about 55 minutes late.

Can they claim delay repay from cross country, or will they reject it as they only held train tickets to Wolverhampton.

I know split tickets aren’t shouldn’t be a problem for delay repay if the traveller has a valid through itinerary - but does that still apply if it’s a ticket / concessionary pass split?

You should be fine to claim Delay Repay, as it's a valid ticket, it's 'similar' to a season ticket.

Though they might throw up a fuss, but they shouldn't.

Thanks. I suppose having an address in Coventry might also help insofar as it explains why they were going there rather than Wolves
