Crash and derailment in Northam depot this morning ... 450 046 and unknown 444 involved ... both jobs for Kilmarnock repair squad...

Yes, that means there are 3 sets with some cars down, 42 to go.

With 444 042 not due back until December we will possibly seeing some spothires of a fleet in Eastleigh perhaps ...

Is Kilmarnock the only repair shop for Desiro's. I just find it odd that FSR damaged 170's go to Derby, and SWT damaged Desiro comes to Kilmarnock (I know it is to do with manufacturers and service contracts etc) but seems a lot of business for the road haulage contractors involved!

I drove 444013 the other day and I had a Siemens bod on board who told me that this train was a hybrid as both 444042 and 444013 were involved in collisions with trees so this train was made up with parts from both.Last time I had 2413 with a 2418 driving trailer it broke down on me in Jan 2007 at Branksome.

I also hear of 185s going to Walton-On-Naze for something.....long trek imo.

Haven't heard of that...360s live at Clacton, but AFAIK most if not all 185 maintainance can be done at Ardwick!

:?: :?:

I swear I saw 011 in service a few days ago.

FWIW, 026 was out of service anyway, it failed with a axle bearing failure () a few days ago on 1W53 17:05 London - Weymouth, the train was held at Woking for an hour while the rear portion was uncoupled. This may be well why Automotivehistorian saw a 450 on the up working, as 2B53 18:25 Southampton Central - Poole was replaced with a 450 off the Fratton jobs.

Hang on, theres only Three incidents with 444s! and seeing as is 042 running with 013 its one desiro down, but better than two.

This is all blaspheme, if unsuitable then we shall see the day that they are removed, but until then take a ride, go for a phot add 444 024 to your photo collection for the first time or again!

And Tom, a spot hire for a 442... keep dreaming ;)

No - it's three units down.

444 042 & 013 hybrid have a high tendancy of failing so it's effectively 3 down.

I would guess quite a few drivers don't care what they end up driving and to them a Desiro means a comfier seat to sit in.

However, the likelihood of any 442s being hired is unlikely. What might happen is a 458 or two appearing on Basingstoke turns occasionally.

I think the likelihood of 458s appearing on Basingstoke's is even more unlikely as there is no spare stock to run that turn.

No TMS faults? No wonder there was a Siemens bod on there ... must have broken down the day before ...

I hope these units don't stay out of action too long - nobody likes their train turning up short-formed and overcrowded.

These two are worse than 042 mate, the 450 has been sliced right open like a tin can.
