Announcements at Manchester

I visited Manchester Piccadilly recently and noticed a change in the Anne Announcements style.

Previously the announcements were Ditra style "Platform 1 for the ..." Yesterday there were "the next train to depart from Platform" and "the train at platform ..." As can be heard at most other ATOS voiced network rail managed stations.

Is this relatively new at Manchester Picc and is there a policy as to what style of announcements are heard at stations?

When I worked for a call centre we were told people don't listen to the first few words.
Not sure if this is just buulplop but it seems to be a common belief.
So Good morning, thank you for calling - you hear Thank you for calling. This could be one of the reasons it is done this way.

At Leeds we used to get (though I've not noticed if it still is the same more recently) 'The next train to depart from platform X will be...' almost exactly 9 minutes before that train was due, followed by 'Platform X for the 00:00 [operator] service to... as the train in question was about to pull in - so a mixture of the two.
