Andover/Waterloo Help

Hi All,

Can anyone advise of a cheaper alternative to a Andover/Waterloo season ticket, it's priced at £4936 for the year.

I am wanting to apply for a job but really need to get the travel down before I can even consider it. I have a railcard if that helps but travel would be peak times.
Any tips or advice greatly appreciated!!

We would need to know the following before we can offer any advice:

What are the start and end stations and would you use the underground or bus as part of your journey?
How often would you be travelling? 5 days a week or less? 47/8 weeks a year allowing for 4/5 weeks annual leave?

Railcards can not be used with season tickets.

If it is a job you are really keen on would you consider relocating?
It's over an hour plus you have to factor in getting to Waterloo and to the workplace at Andover from the station.

The annual season ticket you have already looked at is the best option available to you. Does the employer offer an interest free loan? Many companies do and that way you can spread the cost and get the advantage of the annual ticket price.

Alternatively Commuter Club does annual tickets whereby you pay in 11 monthly installments so you can take advantage of the annual season ticket price without paying the whole cost upfront.

Thanks! My employer do offer loans so I will look into that.

And of course it depends on how much you really want the job, whether or not it offers annual pay increases (as the price of season tickets go up) and whether or not you can accept travel disruption from time to time. Plus of course, less time spent at home - especially if you have a family
