Did my eyes decieve me or did i see a single 153 on the 15.13 Todmorden to Leeds (14.48 ex. Manchester Victoria). I have not seen a single 153 on a via bradford service for years. A year or two ago i saw one on a via dewsbury working but they are normally doubled up or atached to a 155/158. Not as unusual but still worth a mention is that there were two 2 144's on the fast services today. Although one returned from manchester atached to a 153. Any reason for the single 153?

I'd imagine its somehow related to the 2x153s I saw sat in Vic on the delayed 1421 Leeds. The one nearest the buffers had a not to be moved board attached - Left just over half an hour down so presumably then they ditched the rear 153, leaving it at Vic, and just ran the service with one. Unsure of the problem with the other 153, sorry. I'd imagine it will have been the 1452 service through Todmorden running late rather than the 1513 though.

Ah yes I did see 2x153's going through Todmorden towards Manchester at about 14.00. I guess this was the 13.36 (12.37 ex-Leeds). It came through Todmorden at around 15.15 so I assumed that was the 15.13. Needless to say I guess it was very crowded. Also I saw a 2 car 144 heading for manchester on a fast service (the 14.04 I think) and when it returned there was a 153 stuck on the back.

Not a rare occurrence, when things go wrong.

I've worked a 153 on its own on the 2237 LDS-MCV a few months back.

But yesterday's 1421 MCV-LDS was one 153, as the other had a failed water pump on its run to Vic.

I seen a single Class 153 on the 0910 York - Leeds yesterday. Is this a usual working? Considering it's usually 2x150s and I've never seen a 153 work this before.
