Knocked this up in a few hours using Affinity Designer.

The weird isometric perspective was inspired by the old Stuttgart S-Bahn map.

This looks stunning. Is this all deep level stuff? I'd say you could probably make St Enoch adjoined with Glasgow Central to create a sort of super-station as well as culling Argyle Street.

Wow, where to start.

Firstly I love the design, those diagonals are really eye-catching and striking.

I also like your total rethinking of the Glasgow suburban rail network, maybe the City Council could do with such inspirations?

Must be great minds... I knocked up something similar during lockdown. It was based on an integrated tram/train system, with interchanges to heavy rail, multiple P&Rs and an interchange built in Buchannan Bus station. This is where the trams, long distance buses and heavy rail (via link to Queen Street) could link up. Also mocked some rolling stock (badly!). The stock is based on the Le Mans trams and reverts to the good old Strathclyde Red.

This link reminded me of a project my son who is a graphic designer did about five years ago. It's a plan of the Greater Glasgow Integrated Rail Network which shows mainly existing lines with two entirely new routes, namely Paisley Gilmour Street to the airport and the Eastern Subway Circle (these latter have been discussed in various forms for a quarter century or so). Everything else follows existing or historic routes.

I normally have a blind spot when it comes to the old firm just ignore Celtic Park and it'll be fine. At least the most important one is there....St Mirren Park!!

One thing I think for the maps would be to extend lines from Renfrew down to paisley, taking in the catchment of South Renfrew as well as serving the College on Renfrew Road and the Northern part of Paisley.

Some months ago, the Mayor of the West Midlands published a similar map showing proposals for rail and metro in the West Midlands by 2040.

Sadly, as with the maps for Glasgow, I don't think much of this will be built, especially after COVID-19, but it doesn't do any harm to have a vision of what public transport in your city will look like in the future.

In Birmingham the tram network is being expanded, and it is proposed to bring a freight only line back into use for the Commnowealth Games.

For Glasgow, would it be feasible to convert part of the network such as the Cathcart circle to a tram, and then have street running sections in the city centre as happened with the Altrincham and Bury lines in Manchester?
