An ambitious, yet probably ridiculous, idea: Is the plane really faster?

There would be the same amount of luggage, but there's less carrying to do for the train
journey than the plane.

Train:
down to the station
round the corner at Paddington
from the underground at King's Cross to the main station and onto the train
Off the train to my flat

Plane:
down to the station
from the train at Reading to the Rail Air departure place (further than the Paddington train-tube section)
from the Rail Air coach into the airport check in point
from the luggage collection point at Aberdeen - the station at Dyce (a lot further than kings cross tube-train section)
from Aberdeen station to my flat

Assuming that is what you were referring to.

Here's a tip (although I'm not sure if it still works). The Stagecoach No 10 bus from the airport stops at the ARI/Foresterhill. I always used to change to the First No 14 there to get to my flat in Elphinstone Road. The long wait was annoying (why does my village get 3 buses an hour while Aberdeen Airport gets 1 or 2?) but it saved a lot of walking.

Still, I only used that route if I had a late practical the day I left, otherwise the 14:50 to King's Cross was a much easier journey.
