On board an evening Bournemouth bound XC service from Oxford to Reading:
*Approaching Reading* "Ladies and Gentlemen, we are now approaching Reading... blah blah... Please note that we are due to depart at xxxx, so we will have around ten minutes wait at Reading". Train stops briefly outside station, then pulls forwards.
Unusually, we didn't seem to be going to P7 - I thought it was a bit odd to be blocking P5 for so long, but hey ho.
*Train trundles slowly down centre track between P4 and P5*
*Train stops*
Cue reactions ranging from looking left, then right, then left, then shrugging shoulders to frantic jabbing at the door buttons before running to the other end of the train.
Ladies and Gentlemen, as I'm sure you have noticed we have been signalled into a line with no platform. The driver's on the phone to the signaller and we hope to have this sorted as soon as we can. Once again, the signaller appears to have been not paying attention so we don't have a platform
Train then went forwards a bit, then a rather narked looking driver sauntered back through the train before reversing into P5. All this proved too much for the PIS at Reading, which promptly showed its disapproval by crashing briefly.
---
Made me chuckle a bit anyway, as well as be glad it wasn't a double Voyager (or IEP for that matter...).
