Amazon takes full creative control of James Bond

On a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is furious, 10 is ecstatic, where are you?

Do people not grow out of James Bond by about age 16?

At least the recent ones tried to be modern action films. The old ones are "very much of a time"

BTW has anyone read the books?

Yes, I've read the books. They aren't very good IMHO.

Yes. Well, the Ian Fleming ones anyway.
Was given a set as a Christmas present decades ago.

I have read all of them, both those by Fleming and others, except for the one by Jeffrey Deaver, which is sitting on the side table. As Fleming seems to have felt, the quality declined after the first five: they are generally better than most thrillers (The Spy Who Loved Me of Fleming’s works excepted), but there are many better. They tend to work better if they are not too long: the modern tendency towards long thrillers doesn’t always work with the Bond ‘Wham! Bam! Thank you, Ma’am!’ style.

IT website The Register has some interesting scenarios for new films under Amazon at
e.g.

You're Only Billed Twice

And from the comments section

James Bond: Deliver Another Day

James Bond is brought in to investigate why Prime Same Day delivery is becoming strangely uncommon for Prime Members

James Bond has never been amongst my favourites. I have probably seen most of them on TV, - OK to pass the time if there is nothing better on TV, but always thought there were better "spy / adventure" films available. Like many TV soaps, it has long outlived its natural life and should be allowed to fade away.

The advantage is that unless you are desperate to see everything as soon as it is released, you can just subscribe to one for a couple of months, watch what interests you, then cancel and move on to the next one.

Which is why some new series' are purposely released in a more traditional fashion (like every week/month, or as is common in the USA in spring/fall seasons). Of course you could wait until the whole series is available, but with Amazon you have to be mindful of the fact that some content could become chargeable after a while.
