He would have got what he ****ing deserved. He had no right tresspassing on railway property.jeeeesus - if the train was going a tad faster, that kid's arm would have beeen sliced off

Which is why NR has spent so much money over the last few years barricading and fencing off as many railside locations as possibleThe annoying thing is, if it was in the UK, the kids parents, or the kid would probably sue NR for allowing them to get on the track, and there being nothing to stop them, or if their arm did come off, it would be the taxpayers money treating them in hospital.
I'm sure than an IC-225 is more than strong enough to hit a human at 450mph without enduring any damage...![]()

Nonsense.Which is why NR has spent so much money over the last few years barricading and fencing off as many railside locations as possible
A walkway I used to use, which had a 3 foot brickwall now has a 3 foot fence on top of that wall
hock: Oh my god, some people are fools aren't they?

Personally...I wish Id've been the driver in that video, as a similar situation with me at the controls might see me making a slight error and throwing the power controller into the "full" position, insted of the brakes...hock:

There's a pedestrian crossing near to me that traverses the North Downs line. Though it's perfectly legal to use it (It's an official crossing) I've never considered it a safe one as the sighting distance on the Northbound road is far too short for comfort, and I've had a near miss with a Voyager on that crossing before now. I posted about it in the main NR forum ages ago hoping that someone from NR would see it and make sure that some form of improvements (Say, a pedestrian warning light, or 'phone to Reading/Guildford signalboxes) were installed there, but I digress. I thank the Gods that - As far as I'm aware - I'm the only person who appears to use it at all.If people are going to trespass then they should at least make sure they can see what's coming so that no-one else is physically or psychologically affected by the sight of them on the rails. That isn't to say that I feel it mitigates the stupidity or gravity of it or that I condone it, but the reality is, it happens.

Ahh...But remember that OTMR needs electricity to function, and I often carry a multi-tool with - Amongst other features - A pair of wire-cutters!In these days of OTMR, you'd be proverbially hung, drawn and quartered for that

The point that I'm making here is that whenever I using the crossing, I'm always - IMO - taking a similar risk to the average tresspasser, even though I'm using an official crossing in the authorised manner. Indeed...If I'm at home and know that I'm going to be using the crossing before returning there, I always stuff my hi-vis in my pocket. Won't do me b***er-all good against a Northbound train approaching at over 70mph during hours of darkness, but at least I'm doing the best I can.

(Only kidding of course...Ye'd never disconnect an OTMR device unless ye wanted to go down for thirty years!hock:
