Altrincham area to Bath

Looking for help to confirm prices found are best.

People travelling from the Altrincham area (can start Alty, Piccadilly, Stockport)

Saturday 24th returning same day.

£53:40 Picc to Bath via Newport 7:30 departure, 17:40 from Bath back.

It's for football so a 3pm start but would like to arrive early to enjoy the local ales.

Stockport - Cheltenham - Bath is at £69

Side question, bath From Paddington is £36-40 with singles and £56 with a Super off peak return.

Will we be able to walk up for the £56 on the day and get a group save to boot?

Is the £53 you mention a single or return ticket?
