Alternative route during Tube strike

I have a return ticket booked for travel , during the September Tube strike , from Blackhorse Road to Three Bridges. The route is Victoria Line Tube to Finsbury Park and then Thameslink to Three Bridges. As I will be unable to use the Tube can I validly use the ticket on an alternative route ? I was considering taking the Overground from St James Street (Walthamstow) to Liverpool Street then walking to London Bridge to catch the Thameslink.

There may also be the option of taking the Overground to Harringay Green Lanes, walking to Harringay station, Great Northern to Finsbury Park then continuing on normally from there. This requires a few more changes but is quite reliable and means you're likely to get a seat on the Thameslink.
It should fall within the 3-mile routing rule but I'm not sure if the walking interchange in Harringay is recognised.

A flexible ticket from blackhorse road will most likely not be valid from St James Street (the experts will verify this - it depends on if 'via walthamstow central' is a valid route for this journey) but it should be valid from Seven Sisters (or Stamford Hill, Stoke Newington and Rectory Road) as it's a recognised interchange point on cross-london tickets with tube included.

You can also take the Overground Suffragette line from Blackhorse Road to Crouch Hill. Then 5 minutes walk from there to Finsbury Park station. Ticket acceptance should be in place…

I’ve worked on stations, when there is a strike we usually accept tickets 99% of times.

Furthermore the Lioness Line is a TfL service so it would be accepted via that route and it operates from Blackhorse route so the topic posters ticket will work from his start of journey. And then he will walk 5 mins to Finsbury Park, so his ticket is valid the alternative route.

It's the Sufragette Line at Blackhorse road. The Lioness Line is the Watford-Euston route

Yes mate, thank you for the information. Apologies still getting use to all these overground new names. It’s the suffragette to crouch hill then walk to Finsbury Park spot on.

Thanks for suggestions. My ticket is an anytime day return allowing a break of journey. I will take the Overground from St James Street to Liverpool Street and pay for this using contactless. I will walk to London Bridge and ask to be let through the barrier using the 'break of journey' rule. I don't think this is technically correct as I'm actually starting my journey at LB, but hopefully, as it's a strike day, the barrier staff will be lenient. I'll be out of pocket, but not much I can do about it.
Going via London Bridge I'll have either the option of a train coming from Cambridge or Bedford. Going via Finsbury Park I'd just have the Cambridge train and if this is not running I'd be a bit stuffed.
