Alstom are partnered with Stagecoach in a bid for South Eastern.
But Stagecoach have just been disqualified from that bid, so prospects for Alstom to win rolling stock orders for SE seem slim.
They will also have rolling stock bids in for East Midlands and West Coast (HS2).
Prospects don't look good for EM, but they must be in with a good shout on WC.
Alstom are also working with DfT and the Roscos on a potential trial of hydrogen powered trains, based on their Coradia Lint design.
Meanwhile, their strongest hand in the UK is in the signalling area, and train refurbishment.

East Mids new train fleet is between Bombardier, Hitachi and Stadler, as per the current Modern Railways.

Almost’s best chance is probably HS2.

They are an excellent case study of how not to do it: they haven’t won a single new trains order by competitive tender in the UK since they became Alstom. Had they supported the Juniper fleet properly at the start and not cut costs and corners, they would have cleaned up the big SWT order that went to Siemens, and probably the 350s on the back of it.

But the technical requirements of the HS2 rolling stock contract really don't suit Alstom's technology, existing platforms or IP.

The last 2 will probably be Siemens and Bombardier-Hitachi.

I know they’ve stopped building them, but does the AGV meet the requirements better than a TGV derivative?

Better but still not great. Jacobs bogies and short car length don't work well with maximising usable interior space and the requirements for toilets / distance to doors and dwell times all assume 25m car length (+ extra for nose cone). Floor height and electrics good.
