Another ALR for me, this time 13th to 19th March.

Sunday: Three Bridges-Victoria-Euston-Crewe-Shrewsbury-Swansea-Cardiff
Monday: Cardiff-Ebbw-Cardiff-Bridgend-Maesteg-Gloucester-Reading-Gatwick
Tuesday: Three Bridges-Brighton-Ashford-Stratford-Norwich-Sheringham-Norwich-Great Yarmouth
Wednesday: GYM-Norwich-Lowestoft-Ipswich-Felixstowe-Ipswich-Cambridge-Kings Cross-Marylebone-Oxford Pky-Oxford-Reading-Gatwick
Thursday: Three Bridges-St Pancras-Nottingham-Leeds-Accrington-Man Vic-Man Pic-Stockport
Friday: SPT-Stalybridge-Liverpool-Preston-Barrow-Carlisle-Edinburgh
Saturday: EDB-Tweedbank-EDB-Glasgow-Balloch-Dumbarton-Helensburgh Upper-Helensburgh Cent-Partick-Glasgow Central-Euston-Victoria-Crawley

Should be a good one hopefully, four hotel stops and two at home, as well as the last day at home.

Good luck with your plan. Make sure your departure from Great Yarmouth coincides with the short set, as its a real treat. Currently 37422 & 425, although that may change!!

Agreed, it does sounds like a good plan. I've decided that I'm going to visit Wales, the South West and the South East on my ALR for this year, considering I've nearly done everything in the North (except for the North East, which I'm doing in a couple of weeks' time). Exact destinations will be decided nearer the time, although Penzance is definitely on the cards.

In that case, you might want to consider heading to St Ives along another of Britain's scenic rail branches. And you'll also have the Dawlish seawall.

Thanks, I think I'll put that on the "to do" list. The provisional plan is to get most if not all of the South West ticked off after I've done Wales (which won't take long as I've already done the Valley Lines and Cardiff local routes) and whatever days I have left after the South West I'll spend on the south coast (except the Isle of Wight as that's pencilled in for later in the year) and in South East. Not sure when it'll be yet, but it'll be some time during March or April.

Fri: Appleby-Leeds-Manchester-Barrow-Ravenglass
Sat: Ravenglass-Carlisle-Newcastle-London-Winchester

Leeds-Accrington-Man Vic

If time allows, Leeds-Tod-Blackburn-Vic would get you the curve, the Darwen loop and Farnworth tunnel (but at the expense of Rochdale, if that's new track).
Or Vic to Picc via Bolton?

Coming off the 1418 ex Nottingham, would that be the 1426 Leeds to Todmorden, 1531 to Blackburn, then which train after that? For a Thursday?
