I'm away from home without a reliable internet connection so apologies if this question has been asked before, but does anybody know if there is a shuttle between Alnmouth and Alnwick and if so, how I view times and prices?

Alnmouth to Alnwick is served by the normal hourly X18 Newcastle/Morpeth to Alnwick/Berwick service via Amble, Warkworth, Alnmouth etc:

Can't find a straightforward way of discovering the fares though, but there's a 'plus bus' available - which might be easier to organise depending on where you're starting?

http://www.plusbus.info/alnmouth £2.30 day ticket, or £1.50 with railcard.

Thankyou very much! Just out interest, do you know how whether it's cheaper to buy plusbus if you have a railcard?

Thanks for all the responses. Sadly the bus doesn't connect with the train in either direction (great coordination!) so it looks like I'll be driving.

We stayed at Alnwick (having arrive at Alnmouth station by train) back in July 2010.

We used the bus quite a bit to get around including a journey from Alnwick to Alnmouth town, which I have to say was probably the most expensive bus fare I ever paid for such a short distance.

So beware, it might be worth asking the driver about the price of a day ticket as it might be much better value.

You've obviously never been to Swansea... £4.20 for a 20-minute journey on a local bus through the city centre! I thought I'd misheard the driver when he told me how much money he wanted from me, and still can't believe how much it cost.
