Almost, but not quite a circular route

Going on about bus routes, here's a thought. Have there been, or are there any bus routes, where the two terminal points are so close to each other, that the route could almost be a circular route?

One example, to get you going, is a now defunct bus route in Dublin. The old 58 was launched by CIE in 1965, as a kind of Dun Laoghrie town service. It ran from the 7A terminus at Sallynoggin, to Pottery Road, Kill o' the Grange. The two terminals were very close to each other, almost completing a circle. Dublin Bus withdrew the route on 5th March 1988.

So, any other routes where the two outer ends were very close to one another? Close being up to a mile maximum?

Looking at Google Maps IIRC, it starts at the bus stop next to Vulcan Motor Company and terminates near Broadland Digital slightly further up the map.

Stagecoach Newcastle 32 Runs from Market Street West around the outer city back to Market Street East, Start/Finish points separated by a junction and its interworked with another service so doesn't 'cross' the terminus

In Watford, the Arriva service 41 runs once a day (not too sure why) and starts just north of the bus garage, and ends just south of the bus garage! So close to being circular

In Wirral we've got the 403/413, which run for over an hour from Seacombe Ferry through Wallasey, Moreton, Upton and Prenton before terminating in Birkenhead, about 5 mins from where they started. Until last month they went to Woodside Ferry, which was even closer to the starting point.

In years gone by they used to serve Four Bridges too, though this didn't last long. I was told this was because drivers hated going all that way to get nowhere, though this may have been anecdotal...

Brookes Bus route U5 in Oxford almost does a full circle before heading to Marston.

The former service 42 in Basildon is a good example of this. It ran as a commuter service for people working in the industrial and retail areas in the north of the town, with the bus station (its southern terminus) and Festival Leisure Park (its northern terminus) being about ten minutes' walk apart. Allowing for the fact that the Festival Leisure Park is slightly north of the road it approaches from, the area immediately before is even closer to the town centre. It ran via Vange, Pitsea and Burnt Mills to cover approximately one kilometre. Is it any surprise that it no longer runs...?

Isn't that because they *are* circular or is there something we don't know about them?

Not knowing where they terminate in the myriad of central town stops, I was erring on the side of caution. They are listed as being circular.
